Oliver is shot while trying to stop a mugging. Having read the news about this event, Clark goes to check on him, only to find a perfectly healthy Oliver exercising, but there is a change in his personality. While leaving, Clark uses his x-ray ability to find that Oliver is injecting himself. With Chloe's help, Clark is able to locate a research facility sponsored by Oliver, and they find a drug that heals all kinds of wound instantly. Oliver confronts Lex and shoots him after he refuses to give away his fortune. Lex survives after being injected with the healing drug.
Oliver finally snaps out of it.
