Kung Fu Panda

The story begins with Po waking up on the floor after having a dream of becoming the greatest kung fu master. In reality, Po - a panda and the son of a goose, Mr. Ping - is a kung fu fanatic; his room is riddled with sculptures of his idols - the Furious Five. Mr. ping expects his son to take over the noodle restaurant and inherit the secret ingredient which has been passing for generations.

The greatest master, Oogway, foretells that the dark warrior Tai Lung will break out of prison, urging that a ceremony should be held in order to select the Dragon Warrior to battle him.

Master Shifu sends a goose to the prison to warn the guards, but the captain is too proud to follow the advice. While giving the messenger a tour around the prison, Tai Lung leaps at the chance, overwhelming thousands of guards before escaping.

At the Jade Palace, the ceremony begins, and one of the Furious Five is expected to be choosen.
Po arrives at the Palace only to find the gate has closed. He improvises a firework-propelled chair which projects him in the air, landing into the center of the yard. Master Oogway promptly designates Po as the Dragon Warrior over the objection of Master Shifu and the Furious Five, believing it to be fate rather than an accident.

Instead of tutoring Po, Master Shifu insults him and makes him suffer in the hope that he will quit soon and the Furious Five also give him the cold shoulder. But Master Oogway comforts Po, instructing him to believe in himself. The Furious Five are finally moved by his tenacity, during a conversation, Tigress recounts the story about Tai Lung: Shifu took him in when he was a cub and taught him Kung Fu after recognizing his talent. Tai Lung grew up to be a skilled martial artist; furious that Oogway wouldn't appoint him Dragon Warrior, he laid waste to the Valley of Peace before attempting to grab the Dragon Scroll by force, but Oogway stopped him, putting him in prison.

The goose messenger returns, bringing news about Tai Lung's escape. Shifu goes to discuss the matter with Oogway, who insists that Shifu should train Po before passing away. Upon hearing the news, the Furious Five take off to battle Tai Lung without Shifu's knowledge. But they are defeated by a nerve striking technique. Shifu starts training Po after discovering the potential he shows when tempted by food. As expected, Po makes an astounding progression over a short period of time. Shifu is content with Po's development and bestows the Dragon Scroll upon him. Excited, he opens the scroll only to find it is empty. A distraught Shifu decides to face Tai Lung himself and orders his students to evacuate the village.

Returning to the village, Po meets his father, who tells his son the secret ingredient dosen't exist. It's special because people think it is. Figuring out the meaning of the scroll, Po rushes back to the Palace to assist his mentor in fighting Tai Lung. He arrives just in time to stop Tai Lung from killing Shifu, Tai Lung mocks at Po's obesity and a fight ensues when he tries to snatch the Dragon Scroll away from Po. But it proves that he has underestimated his opponent. Tai Lung obtains the scroll after a lethal strike on the panda, but unable to comprehend the symbolism. To eliminate Po, he launches a series of nerve striking but fails to locate the nerves due to panda's fat body. Po strikes back, defeating him, prompting the Five to call him master as the villagers cheer.

Po runs to the Palace to check on his mentor, who is lying on the ground, greatly releaved when hearing the news. At the end, Shifu and Po are seen eating dumplings at leisure beside the peach tree. A seed previously planted by Shifu begins to sprout.
